Feltlike the perfect combination. Prague overrun with tourists and 3 days was enough. Budapest was more livable and is also geographically bigger. You could do all. Prague and Budapest are relatively “small” and can be covered in a short amount of time and on foot. I wasn’t a fan of Vienna, but up to you on that one.
Wefinally decided on Budapest but now we're starting to think the cities might be too the Jewish Quarter, the river running through it.I
Thisis why I'm asking how similar Prague is to Budapest in architecture, culture, food, sights, etc? If they are "kind of similar", then I would drop Budapest. In Munich or Budapest, we would take some day trips. Munich is close to Stuttgart, and being a HUGE car enthusiast, seeing the Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes Benz museums would be a big Ive been to Prague, Vienna and Budapest. I think Budapest has the most to offer, including day trips. If you like wine, Hungary has excellent ones and there's a good tasting room in Budapest in the bowels of the Hilton next to Fisherman's Bastion (worth going to just to see the Hilton - and the bathrooms are very nice and free, unlike the
Theres a "Bitcoin Cafe" in Prague. It's remarkable how similar these 3 cities were to me & I think you can have a great time in any of them. I found Warsaw the most expensive of the 3, Budapest and Prague about the same. I spent 6 weeks in Prague last summer and it's one of my favorite cities. Still relatively cheap, beautiful city, very
Pragueto Vienna to Budapest via the train is an awesome trip and super easy. Budapest is very similar to Prague I found, but bigger. Vienna has some amazing places to look at but is more expensive than both Prague and Budapest by a fair way! Thecheapest tickets we've found for trains from Prague to Budapest are €48.79. If you book 30 days in advance, tickets will cost around €112, while the price is around €113 if you book 7 days in advance. Booking on the day of travel is likely to be more expensive, so it's worth booking ahead of time if you can, or check our special

Bothcities are architecturally and culturally similar, though I prefer Budapest because of the prices and the city is a bit more easily navigable Reply reply beezyfbb • Thanks so much for both of your replies!! I didn't realize budapest was any cheaper that prague or other cities in eastern/center europe Reply reply

BudapestI felt was very similar to Prague right down to the metro as a way to get around. (I think Budapest is 5 lines compared to Prague's 3, but it's cheap and easy). Vienna I found more difficult to get around as things were spread over a larger area, and it's much more expensive than either Prague or Budapest. It's super nice in the winter z2IaE.
