jIBs. Well,a few days ago, I followed the owner manual post-battery-change routine (warm up, idlle, AC on, idle, etc.) but the idiot light for transmission fault AND lousy shifting persisted. I borrowed an OBD II fault scanner and noted 2 faults, one for heater resistance (0054) and another for transmission ECM/TCM (0606).I'd highly doubt it isn't covered as the automatic gearbox is absolute dogshite and there's lawsuits everywhere for it. However, if it isn't under warranty, at least you'll find out what the problem is. I had to take mine in due to transmission issues. Don't waste $250 when the dealership will fix it for free. A P0500 code suggests a problem with the vehicle’s speed sensor (VSS). The VSS is usually placed on the transmission housing. In some vehicles, it is located inside the wheel well or attached to the speedometer. A reluctor ring located on the transmission shaft passes over the tip of the VSS every time it rotates.
